The Lobster Trap in Bourne keeps their lobster roll simple—lobster, mayonnaise and lettuce served up on a butter brioche bun—and judging by the reviews, it’s wicked good.

“One of the most delicious lobster rolls I’ve had in my life,” wrote a reviewer on Google. “As a southern gentleman, I know good food. And this, my friends, is it!”

And he is far from alone. The Lobster Trap has more than 2,000 reviews on Google and averages 4.6 stars. The first tab that comes up is “lobster roll,” with 117 posts. Folks come to Cape Cod craving that good ol’ East Coast lobster, and The Lobster Trap seems to never disappoint. Happily fed mouths continue to rave about the famous lobster roll, saying they cannot wait to come back for more, locals and out-of-towners alike.

Many reviewers share photos of their overflowing plates, with delicate chunks of lobster meat spilling over the edges of a buttery, toasted brioche roll. But one reviewer did have a warning for visitors: “Make sure you clear your schedule before you decide to visit this gem,” he wrote. “There’s a good chance that once you’ve taken your first bite of their lobster roll, you’ll realize you’ve been transported to heaven.”

Located on the Back River on Shore Road in Bourne, the Lobster Trap began as a neighborhood fish market in 1969. They still sell fresh fish to bring home and cook while also serving up some of the Upper Cape’s best and freshest seafood dishes.
