The Arthur D. Calfee Insurance Agency, Inc., is a second-generation, family-run, father and son insurance agency that has long been a client favorite on the Upper Cape. The trust that the Calfee team builds with its clients is a major reason why the firm’s popularity continues to grow.

Arthur Calfee began his career in insurance more than 60 years ago. With solid industry training and experience in a Boston firm, he moved to Falmouth in 1980 and founded his own agency from his home. His client list quickly grew to more than 3,500 people and 500 businesses in the area.

Mr. Calfee died on August 1 and the agency, now under the direction of Mr. Calfee’s son, Davidson, offers many competitive auto, home, boat/yacht, business, disability and life insurance policies. The firm works with the region’s top companies, including Arbella, Safety, Encompass, UPCIC, Plymouth Rock, Travelers, Preferred Mutual, CNA, Lloyds of London, Scottsdale and Lexington.

The team’s commitment to clients extends to the town Mr. Calfee loved. He was named Falmouth’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce “for many years of dedicated service, leadership and achievements that have made Falmouth and Cape Cod a very special place to live.” He also was honored with a variety of other community awards, such as the Falmouth Heritage Award.
