Mulcahy Family Chiropractic is founded on the idea that chiropractic support is one of the most important forms of support anyone can offer their body. While many view chiropractic as limited to addressing neck and back pain, this is a misconception, in the view of Dr. Bob Mulcahy DC, who founded the practice with his wife in 1998.

“Your spine houses the world’s most sophisticated intelligence network, the nervous system, a remarkable system that relays information to billions of cells in your body,” he states in a greeting on the homepage of the office’s website.

If communication from the brain to all the vital organs, glands and cells of the body is impaired by a misaligned vertebrae—what chiropractors call “subluxation”—interference occurs in the body. The primary goal of the practice is to remove nerve interference, to restore the body’s innate healing ability.

His experience receiving chiropractic care as a youth to resolve headaches spurred in Dr. Bob an interest in studying the field. After graduating from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, he enrolled in New York Chiropractic College, where he met his future wife, Kristen, who was finishing her doctorate in psychology. Today the couple practices together and lives in Falmouth with their three children.

Dr. Bob is trained in pediatric chiropractic care and upper cervical chiropractic care, a specialty. He has served in professional associations for many years, including as a board member of the International and Massachusetts chiropractic societies.

The practice offers chiropractic care for infants, children and adults through a range of adjusting techniques including infant adjusting, pediatric adjusting and the specific upper cervical technique. Exam procedures include the use of state-of-the-art tools such as digital infrared thermal scanner (Tytron C-3000), surface electromyography (SEMG), digital posture analysis (Posture Pro) and on-site X-rays.

The practice also provides ongoing workshops in the areas of health, nutrition, meditation, exercise, vaccination and the birth process.
